The CIPD NI Awards are the most respected and reputable awards for the HR profession in Northern Ireland, with more hundreds of HR professionals competing each year. Returning in 2016 for their fourth year the Awards are celebrating the contribution of HR and People Management in business. From Employee Engagement to Organisational Learning and Development the awards celebrate not only innovation and success, but the impact this has on the bottom line too! The categories for 2016 include the new ‘Talent Management Programme of the Year’ and ’Most Effective Recruitment Strategy’, ensuring the Awards represent the broadening marketplace and industries within this.
According to the CIPD, talent management is as follows:
Talent management seeks to attract, identify, develop, engage, retain and deploy individuals who are considered particularly valuable to an organisation. By managing talent strategically, organisations can build a high performance workplace, encourage a learning organisation, add value to their branding agenda, and contribute to diversity management. For these reasons, HR professionals widely consider talent management to be among their key priorities.
Team Macklin were fortunate enough to not only be a finalist for the CIPD Talent Management Program of the Year award, but to be the lucky winners! Well, using the term lucky lightly – more like worthy winners. The Management and HR team have put in a serious amount of hard work to sure that talent management is at the centre of their organisational strategy, and this award proves that the hard work has paid off!
