Park Manor Residents attend Christmas Lunch with St. Vincent de Paul
13th December 2017
Park Manor residents were invited to the St Vincent de Paul Senior Citizens Christmas lunch at the Beechlawn Hotel, Dunmurry on Sunday 10th December. The room was full of beautiful Christmas decorations and residents were welcomed with a smile and shown to their seats. It was such an exciting day for them; they just love getting out and about and meeting new people and thanks to Heather Turkington’s Pamper Day’s in Park Manor, the residents were looking fabulous.
The atmosphere in the room was magic and our residents had a great time interacting with other members of the community. Christmas lunch was served and everyone tucked into the sumptuous food and wine while the conversation was flowing.
There was also a ballot ran throughout the afternoon where the residents won lots of fabulous prizes. After the dinner and ballot, it was time for dancing and everyone was waltzing around the dance hall to all of the Christmas classics.
Park Manor resident Betty Cummings, pictured here with Moya Hill, Senior Care Assistant said, “I’ve just had the most amazing afternoon, great food, great wine, great company and great music, what more could you want!”
St Vincent de Paul do amazing work for those in the community who need a helping hand, they connect elderly people who may feel lonely in the community and they support families who are in need not only at Christmas, but all year round. They tackle poverty in all forms, this can mean financial poverty but also poverty of loneliness, neglect or despair which can affect the most vulnerable members of our neighbourhood- the unemployed, single parents, low income families, the elderly and people living alone.
We would like to say thank you to St Vincent de Paul for inviting our residents to attend the Senior Citizens Christmas Lunch. It’s always great for them to meet and interact with other senior citizens in the community and this was a fantastic opportunity to do so.
