Park Manor and Head Office take part in Superhero Abseil!
18th April 2018
The team members at Park Manor and Head Office bravely took part in a charity abseil in aid of Friends of the Cancer Centre, Belfast. This was no ordinary abseil, our super team members took the plunge dressed as superheroes!
Nichola Smyth, Senior Staff Nurse at Park Manor said, “We thought the best way to fight the nerves was to have a race to see who could finish first, we focused more on the competitive side rather than worrying about the height!”
Taking part in charity work and getting involved in community initiatives is something our team members take great pride in so they ‘jumped’ at the chance to get involved with this event. Not only friends and family came to show support but our wonderful residents were cheering and clapping everyone abseiling down the Belfast City Hospital, a great day was had by all.
Based at the heart of the Cancer Centre at Belfast City Hospital, the charity funds life-saving and life-changing projects that make a real and lasting difference to the lives of thousands of local people affected by cancer and in the last year alone, Friends of the Cancer Centre has put £1.2 million back into local cancer services and now have an extra help with funds thanks to our extremely brave team members.
